# Minting

A Noft is an NFT token. A non-fungible token (NFT) is a non-interchangeable unit of data stored on a blockchain, a form of digital ledger, that can be sold and traded. Minting is the "birth" process of a Noft. The moment when a Noft token appears on a blockchain.

All Nofts are created by the NoftToken contract. Each one can be found by its unique id. ID is the sequential number of tokens issued on the ERC-721 contract.
